Marty Tennison, 58, of Topeka, passed away on December 6, 2018.
He was born on August 21, 1960 in Emporia, KS the son of Jack and Judy Tennison.
Marty married Karen E. Tennison in 1984. She survives. Other survivors include parents, Jack and Judy Tennison; sister, Pam Tennison-Rindt (Ron Rindt); children, Dara Gibson (Kelly), Zachary Tennison (Becky), Garret Tennison (Melissa), Matthew Tennison, Sarah Tennison; grandchildren, Abigail, Ethan, Natalie, Holly, Gracyn, and Owen; three nieces; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Lance Tennison.
Marty served in the Kansas Air National Guard from 1979 to December 2010. He was a member of the 190th Air Refueling Wing.
Following his military service he worked as a machinist at BNSF for over 5 years.
He enjoyed riding his many motorcycles over the years, hunting, and camping. He will be remembered for his love of archery and blacksmithing.
The family will greet friends during a visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka.
Graveside services with military honors will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Admire, KS. Marty chose this particular cemetery because of its location and its historical significance.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
