Marthelle D. "Marty" Keller, 97, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017.
She was born December 31, 1919, near Bonham, Texas, the daughter of Harry O. Snodgrass and Pearl (King) Snodgrass. Marty grew up in the Williamsburg, Kansas area where she graduated from Williamsburg High School and later Emporia State Teachers College. She taught at Williamsburg Grade School for four years.
Marty married the love of her life, George H. Keller on March 12, 1944 in Pampa, Texas. Marty and George lived in numerous places since George was an Air Force Pilot. He preceded her in death in 1976. For twenty years they lived in Birmingham, Alabama and Marty moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1991.
She was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church, the POW Organization, and many bridge clubs.
She is survived by her three sons, Richard E. (Debra) Keller of Atlanta, Georgia, Mark D. (Pat) Keller of Silver Lake, Kansas, and Pastor Kent L. (Heidi) Keller of Miami, Florida; six grandchildren, Ricky (Kelly) Keller of Cullman, Alabama, Ashley (Thad) Rhodes of Wamego, Kansas, Christy Keller, Andrew Keller, Allison Keller and Charissa Keller all of Miami, Florida.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas.
