Martha M. Williams, 88, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Plaza West Care Center.
Martha was born September 21, 1924 in Commerce, OK, the daughter of Roy and Ruth (Gustin) Sanderson. She graduated from Goodland High School in Goodland, KS.
She was a homemaker most of her life and worked briefly at Blue Cross & Blue Shield. She enjoyed bowling, music, art and tending to her beautiful roses.
She was a member of Topeka Bible Church.
Martha married Howard H. Williams on July 19, 1944 in Henryetta, OK. He died April 10, 1997. Survivors included their children, Mike (Linda) Williams, Steve (Rosie) Williams, Becky (Benny) Springer, Sandy Essman, Paul (Dollie) Williams, all of Topeka; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Sally Carney, Colorado; and brother, Eddie Sanderson, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Martha will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
