Martha M. Pitt

Martha Marie Pitt, 88, Topeka, passed away January 2, 2013. She was born December 5, 1924, in Topeka, the daughter of Arthur and Lucinde Heers Wolf. She was a graduate of Topeka High School. Martha worked as registrar for Topeka High and for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod District Office.

On April 3, 1942, Martha married LeRoy Pitt. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2007. Martha was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka. Survivors include daughters, Lissa Gorman and Susan Zane; sister, Ellen Lucas; grandchildren, Philip (Jackie) and Wendy Gorman and Timothy and Stephen Mitchell; great grandson, William LeRoy Gorman; one niece; and two nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore, Topeka. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Topeka Lutheran School.
