Martha E. Salzer

Martha E. Salzer passed away peacefully May 8, 2015 at Lexington Park in Topeka at the age of 95.
She was born January 7, 1920 in the family home in Irving, KS. She was the second daughter of Fred and Katherine Smerchek.
Her husband, George Salzer and her oldest sister, Violoa Stryker, preceded her in death as did her parents and son-in-law, Donald Young.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Young of Overland Park, KS; her son, Steven Salzer (Barbara) of Liberty, MO and her younger sister, Grace Hart of Topeka. She also had 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 1 at the Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St. in Topeka. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St., Topeka, KS 66614.
