Mark L. Tyree, 67, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015.
Mark was born December 10, 1947 in Topeka, the son of Albert and Dorothy (Ingraham) Tyree. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1965 and graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in electrical engineering.
He served in the U.S. Air Force at Travis Air Force Base as a medic.
He was an Electrical Engineer in California, working for Underwriters Lab, the City of San Jose and Intec, later opening his own computer store. He returned to Topeka in 1993 where he worked in antiques and selling camera manuals on-line. His most rewarding job during this time was at TARC. He retired in 2010.
Mark was very active supporting his daughter during her 10 years in 4H. He was an avid collector of cameras. He was one of the longest members on Facebook's Topeka History Geeks, sometimes called "the history guy". He served three years on Topeka's Landmark Commission.
Mark married Barbara Smallwood on December 3, 1971. Mark married Sherry Wagner on May 2, 1998. She survives. Other survivors include daughter, Donia (Steve) Quinby, Stockton, CA; step-son, Deuce (Julia) Wagner, Ft. Gibson, OK; 6 grandchildren; and brothers, Mike (Elaine) Tyree, Frenchburg, KY, and Doug (Mitzie) Tyree, Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service. Private family inurnment will be in the Topeka Cemetery at a later date.
