Marjory Louise Wilson, 72, of Topeka, died on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Homestead Assisted Living.
Marjory was born on November 16, 1941 to William T. and Louise J. (Smith) Holyoke in Chicago, IL. She moved with her family to Topeka in 1945.
Marjory attended Gage Grade School, Boswell Jr. High and graduated from Topeka High School in 1959. She graduated from Washburn University, where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
Marjory taught at Capper Jr. High and spent time volunteering with Jr. League while her children were growing up. She held various jobs throughout the community during her life and at one time was the co-owner of the Needle Nest here in Topeka.
Marjory married Harold D. Gerlach in 1964; to this marriage a daughter Christy and son Dean were born. They later divorced; she later re-married and divorced.
Marjory is survived by her daughter, Christy and son-in-law Jimmy McMullen, son Dean Gerlach, granddaughter, Ashton McMullen and grandsons, Trevor McMullen, Wil and Joe Gerlach, all of Topeka.
A funeral ceremony will be at 1:30p.m, Monday, January 20 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00p.m., Sunday, January 19 at the funeral home.
