Marjorie Marie(Dolezilek) Shaughnessy

Marjorie Marie (Dolezilek) Shaughnessy, entered into eternal life on April 1, 2011, at the age of 85 years in Rolling Hills Nursing Home.

Marjorie was the first born to Hubert George and Grace Elizabeth (Landis) Dolezilek on August 11, 1925, in Topeka. She spent her early childhood in Topeka, having graduated from Topeka High School in 1943.

On July 18, 1943, she married the love of her life, Thomas Felton Shaughnessy, at the First Assembly of God church in Topeka. This union was blessed with four sons, Thomas Albert, Michael Hubert, Patrick O. and Timothy O. Shaughnessy.

Marjorie completely devoted her life to Tom and raising her family. She made sure the boys went to First Assembly of God by taking them herself. She had the God given talent to making any place a home, even while camping. She enjoyed working at JC Penney's in Home Furnishings and later for Shawnee Heights School District.

After retirement, Marjorie and Tom sold their home and lived what they called, the RV life. The both immensely enjoyed traveling to meet old and new friends and square dancing. When declining health forced them to settle down, they returned to Topeka, Kansas in 2003.

Preceding Marjorie are her father Hubert Dolezilek, parents Grace and Earl Riddle, husband Thomas, son Michael and brother Hubert "Bud" Dolezilek.

Those grieving are her sons and their wives, Thomas and Arlinda of Topeka, Patrick and Camilla of Oklahoma City, Timothy and Julie of Wichita and Jan Heflin of Silver Lake. Her eleven grandchildren, Shawn Shaughnessy and wife, Cheryl; Kevin Shaughnessy; Trisha Shaughnessy all of Topeka; Kimberly Song and husband, Matthew of Columbus, NE, Katie Shaughnessy of Kansas City; Jaison and Samantha Shaughnessy; Linette Blanco and her husband, Bryant, all of Oklahoma City, OK. Her first great grandson, Isaac Song of Columbus, NE; two step granddaughters Kaitlynn Tate of Eugene, OR and Katherine Heflin of Stanford, CA. She also left behind sisters Donna Koerner and husband Harold; Patricia Sanders and sister-in-law Norma Dolezilek, all of Topeka; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
