Marjorie Lois Schaefer
Marjorie Lois Schaefer, 87, Topeka, died Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Midland Hospice House.
Marjorie was born December 25, 1918 in Topeka and was a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of Don Waldo and Annabell Johns Osborn.
She graduated from Topeka High School in 1937, and then attended Washburn College for two years, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. While attending Washburn, she worked for the State Motor Vehicle Department. Later she worked for Capper Publications, Santa Fe Railroad, as a Kindergarten Assistant at Van Buren School and a Dental Assistant.
She married Guy H. Schaefer on December 28, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri. He died in 1997.
Survivors include a brother; John "Jack" E. Osborn, Concord, Massachusetts; a niece, Heather A. Osborn, Concord, Massachusetts, and a nephew, Craig S. Osborn, Rancho Cordova, California.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Schaefer will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 12:00 noon, on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brewster Place Foundation, Benevolent Care Fund, 1205 SW 29th, Topeka, Kansas 66611 or to that of the donor's choice.
