Marjorie Kittell Booth, 92, of Topeka, passed away December 18, 2008.
Marjorie was born April 14, 1916 in Omaha, NE to Albert G. and Marie (Fenton) Kittell. When Marjorie reached 8th grade her family moved to Topeka, where she graduated from Topeka High School. Following high school, Marjorie earned a BS Degree in Physical Education from Kansas State University and went on to teach at Washburn University and the Topeka YWCA. In 1941 Marjorie wed Norman C. Booth. She was active in Girl Scouting for many years and during her retirement was a member of the Brewster Singers, volunteered for the Topeka Shawnee Library- Red Carpet Service and had a passion for quilting. Marjorie was a 73-year member of Central Congregational Church.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Gary) Barmore of Chandler, AZ, her son, Donald (Kim Chi) Booth of Kansas City, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Marjorie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman, and her sister, Doris Gross.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27th, 9:00, at the Brewster Place Chapel, 1205 SW 29th Street, Topeka. A graveside service will held at Mount Hope Cemetery at 10:30 am immediately following the memorial service.
