Marjorie Hisel

Marjorie Ann Hisel passed from this life October 23, 2009 at 1:23 PM. She died of complications following a recent stroke. She was in Carrollton, TX where she had resided with her daughter's family since 2003.
Marjorie was born November 13, 1923 at Bellaire, Smith County, Kansas as the daughter of Rex and Thelma Lannigan-Relihan. She moved to Topeka in August 1936 where she attended Theodore Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from Topeka High School in 1941. She was a member of the West Side Baptist Church.
Marjorie Relihan married Floyd O. Hisel on July 29, 1945. Floyd preceded her in death on September 5, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents Rex and Thelma Relihan , and her sisters Kathlyn Weakly and Betty Bracken.
Marjorie is survived by her children Alan Hisel of Lenexa, KS and Paula Schroeder of Carrollton, TX. She is also survived by her sister Bonnie Roman and her brother Robert Garth Relihan; both of Topeka, KS. Marjorie has 5 granddaughters, 1 grandson and 5 great-grandchildren.
Marjorie worked for Collins Marketing Research for 15 years as a research assistant from 1970 to 1985. She was a greatly valued volunteer at Potwin Elementary School for their Ice Cream Social and Library for 10 years, from 1963 to1973. She and Floyd were active members with the Goodyear Retirement Leisure Club.
Marjorie will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. that evening. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, 10/27/09 at the funeral home followed by burial Mount Hope Cemetery.
