Marjorie Louise Hastings

Marjorie Louise Hastings, 98, of Topeka, passed away January 20, 2022.
She was born November 20, 1923 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Henry C. and Myrtle I. (Long) Howell.
While attending Emporia State College, she had to leave college to work in an ammunition plant to help support our active duty military during World War II.
On January 12, 1945, she married Elgie C. Hastings, Jr. in Emporia, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1999. She was also preceded in death by parents, son-in-law, Dennis L. Gustafson, and three siblings, Aileen Barnett, Robert H. Howell, and Lewis Dean Howell.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet L. Gustafson of Las Vegas, Nevada; and granddaughter, Dr. Cheryl J. Gustafson-Schultz and her husband, Dr. Michael Schultz of Kirkland, Washington.
Cremation is planned and no services will be held at this time.
