Marjorie Crawford Drake, 94, of Topeka, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011.
She was born April 20, 1916 at Richmond, VA, the daughter of William Madison Crawford and Nannye Fletcher Austin Crawford.
She lived in Topeka from 1949 to 1972. She lived in Richmond, VA for 15 years, 1972-1987. She returned to Topeka to live in 1987.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She married Noble Wilson Drake on Sept. 19, 1945 at Richmond, VA. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Johanna Wilson Drake Kussmaul, a sister, Nancy McGinnes and two brothers, William Austin Crawford and James A. Crawford .
Survivors include a daughter, Nannette Austin Drake Kishur, Indianapolis, IN; and a brother, J. Glover Crawford, Fredericksburg, VA.
Mrs. Drake was cremated. Memorial ceremonies will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the First Congregational Church, 1701 Collins, Topeka, KS 66604. Interment of cremated remains will be at Forrest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond, VA at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Brewster Place Foundation Endowment Fund, 1205 SW 29th, Topeka, KS 66611 or to American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd., Topeka, KS 66601. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
