Marjorie Ellen Boston (Means) was born in Hays, Kansas in 1927 to Olive Weeks and Harry Means. Her father worked for the railroad and they moved to many towns in Kansas throughout her childhood. Marjorie always made friends as a child wherever she moved, and her adaptability and positive attitude served her throughout her life.
In 1946 she married Douglas Boston, who preceded her in death in 2001.
Marjorie was the mother of six children; Kathleen (Terry Rose) McCune, Stewart Boston(who passed in 2017), David (Judy) Boston, Melanie Boston, Daniel (Bernadette) Boston (who passed in 2022) and Patricia Boston. Her brothers, Harry L Means and Curtis Ross Means also preceded her in death. Her granddaughter, Laura Boston, also precedes her in death.
Marjorie went to business school at Brown Mackie and worked for Schilling Air Base, and later the Menninger Foundation in Topeka, Kansas. She worked in the children’s division for 27 years and was very proud to work among such special people in that challenging field.
She enjoyed traveling and later in life was able to travel around America as much as she could on bus tours. Morgan McCune and Patty were able to accompany her to her favorite place, Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Marjorie enjoyed reading her books and visiting with her many friends over the years, whom she always had some words of wisdom for.
She had 10 grandchildren, Tiffany (Barry) Martin, Texas, Trent Cole, Texas, Jennifer (Don) Gay and Michelle (Richard) Hickey, Kansas, Carrie (Taylor) Boston-Teague, Arkansas, Matt (Macy) Boston, Arkansas, Emily Boston, Arkansas, Jonathan (Carla) Boston, Kansas, Sarah Boston, Missouri, and Laura Boston (who passed in 1997), and many great grandchildren as well. She enjoyed seeing all of them whenever she could, especially enjoying holidays when family could all gather together.
Marjorie will be missed greatly not only by her family, but by the many friends she made over the years.
