Marion T. "Sonny" Sheddan, 65, Topeka, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016.
He was born August 3, 1950, in El Paso, Texas, the son of Marion and Marjorie (Reagan) Sheddan. He graduated from Carbondale High School in 1968 and attended Emporia State University.
Sonny was employed by Good Year Tire & Rubber Co. retiring after 34 years.
He was a member of GPAA, NRA and Topeka Coin Club.
He married Fran A. Brady on August 6, 1976. She survives. Other survivors include: four children, Michael Sheddan, Crystal (Chris) Scholes, Christina Demler, Wendy Sheddan; one brother, Charles (Terri) Sheddan; nine grandchildren, Jayde, Sage, Andrea, Nicholas, Trent, Morgan, Sonny, Sydney and Conner and one great-grandchild, Riley.
Sonny lived life with zest. He was a strong willed and honest individual who loved and was dedicated to his family. Sonny was hard working and had a strong belief and value system. He studied the bible and was a firm believer in God.
He loved music and dancing.
An outdoorsman, he loved nature, hunting & fishing, as well as panning for gold. He tested living off the land.
He was an athlete, coach and loved watching his kids play sports. He loved NASCAR and shooting pool.
He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and orneriness.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of his life at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Mount Hope Chapel, 17th & Fairlawn. Entombment will follow the service.
The family asks that everyone wear camo in celebration of his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care; St. Jude's Hospital or Wounded Warriors Project.
