Marilyn Hypse, 92, of Topeka, passed away on October 29, 2022.
She was born July 16, 1930, in Almena, Wisconsin, the daughter of Richard I. and Florence (Fornell) Dimick. She graduated from Barron High School in 1948 and received an associate's degree from Luther College in Wahoo, Nebraska in 1952.
Marilyn was employed as a bookkeeper for the Sommer Seed Company for 19 years and then for Harry Turner and Associates for 6 years.
Marilyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, of Topeka.
Marilyn married Harold E. Hypse on December 28, 1952 in Cumberland, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2015. Survivors include her children, Tom Hypse (Karen) of Everest, KS, Pam Kobbeman (Bob) of Topeka, KS, Dan Hypse (Stephanie) of Ozawkie, KS, Kathy Ferguson (Jim) of Paola, KS; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Richard Dimick, Clarence Dimick, James Dimick, David Dimick, Patricia Noble, and Priscilla Thompson.
Marilyn enjoyed her family and going to all the children's and grandchildren's events, cooking, and puzzles. Her church family was very important to her.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 5th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Topeka. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street in Topeka. There will be a visitation at the church where the family will receive friends for an hour before the service. There will be a luncheon after the interment at the church.
