Marilyn Bahner

Marilyn Ilene Bahner, 87, formerly of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Presbyterian Manor, Emporia.

Marilyn was born February 28, 1927, in Topeka, daughter of Edwin and Hildegard (Quednow) Senne. She graduated from Topeka High School.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Benjamin "Ben" Bahner in 1948. Ben passed away in 2012. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage.

She worked for the Social Security Administration office, until becoming a homemaker. Later, Marilyn owned and operated the Oakland Hardware Store with her husband until 1991.

She was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church, Topeka.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Beverly Kerbs (husband Stan), of Emporia; and three grandchildren, Lacey Kerbs, of Wichita; Dustin Kerbs, of Lawrence; and Benjamin Kerbs, of Emporia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Pamela Bahner.

Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 6th and Gage, Topeka. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka.
