Marie K. Neill, 102, Topeka, passed away on March 29, 2008. She was born on January 14, 1906 in Lecompton, Kansas, the daughter of David Lusk and Carrie Paslay. Marie graduated from Lecompton Rural High School and Topeka Business College. She was a Division Business Office Supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she retired in October of 1970 with 43 years of service. Marie was a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral, and the Daughters of the King Guild. She was the past president of the Life Member Club of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Arab Nobelles, and Women of the Moose. Marie married Hobart Neill on June 8, 1934. He died August 30, 1961. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Charley, Albert and David Paslay; and her sisters: Martha Denewiler and Dorothy Beatty. Marie is survived by her many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 4 at Grace Episcopal Cathedral, with immediate burial in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Marie will lie in-state at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel on Thursday, April 3, beginning at noon. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Grace Episcopal Cathedral, 701 SW 8th Avenue, Topeka 66603; or Hospice Care of Kansas, 2900-H Oakley Avenue, Topeka 66614.
