Marianne Denny

August 16, 1957 — April 18, 2022

Marianne "Susie" Denny, 64, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2022 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born August 16, 1957, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence "Stub" and Anna Mae (Parker) Denny. Marianne graduated from Topeka High School in 1975. After graduation, she attended Washburn University and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

While attending college, she joined the Delta Gamma Sorority where she built lifelong friendships.

Marianne enjoyed hitting the greens with her friends, vegetable gardening, reading and was a dog lover. She had passion for sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and K-State.

Survivors include her brother, Larry Bruner; sister in law, Connie Bruner; several nieces and nephews and many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings David Bruner, Michael Bruner, Pauline Stanwix and Betty Denny; sisters in law Barbara Bruner and Carol Bruner.

Honoring her wishes, she will be cremated and buried with her family in Burlingame, KS. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66604. Inurnment will follow at Burlingame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Rescue Mission, Inc. PO Box 8350, Topeka, KS 66608-0350 or the Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604-3720. In honor of Marianne's love for sports, the family invites you to wear your favorite sports apparel to the service.
