Marianna Grant, 86, Topeka, died Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born August 27, 1923 in Paola, the daughter of Vernon W. and Helen B. (Hoover) Dunaway.
Marianna had lived in Topeka since 1953 and worked as a deputy city clerk for the City of Topeka for 30 years before retiring on September 18, 1985.
She married Henry H. Grant on July 7, 1951. He died April 17, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vernon W. Dunaway, Jr.; and a sister, Marcella Kirk.
Survivors include her daughter, Jaylene Dumas of Topeka; 2 grandchildren, Megan Jones (Marty) Hall and Joshua (Michelle) Jones, both of Topeka; a sister, Barbara (Carl) Hubbell of Tucson, AZ.; also surviving are the joys of her life-great-grandchildren, Abigail, Ellie Grace, Jackson and Isabelle Hall and Peighton, Addison and Greyson Jones, all of Topeka.
Private graveside services will be in Osawatomie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka 66606.
Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting the family.
