Marian Weinkauf

Marian Weinkauf, 87, of Topeka, passed away at her residence on May 5, 2010. She was born June 11, 1922, in Seneca, KS, the daughter of Floyd and Mildred Culver Carpenter. She was a graduate of Topeka High School in 1940. On November 1, 1962, in Lawrence, KS, she married John Weinkauf, Jr. He survives. She was secretary to the President of Capital Federal Bank for 30 years. She was an avid golfer and bowler.

Survivors include her husband, John; son, John (wife Amanda) Weinkauf, III; grandchildren, Joshua, Dustin, and Brittany; and one great grandchild, Kaylee, all of Topeka. Also surviving is a brother, James Carpenter, of Imperial Beach, CA.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore Street, Topeka. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Topeka Lutheran School, 701 Roosevelt, Topeka, KS 66606.
