Marguerite Peters

Marguerite Peters, 80, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at her home surrounded by her daughter and granddaughters.

Maggie was born May 21, 1925 in Parsons, the daughter of Ben and Minnie Meeks Leslie. She graduated from Parsons High School in 1943.

She married Jim Platter in 1943. They were owners of Platter's Photography studio in Parsons. They divorced in 1963. Maggie moved to Chanute in 1965 where she was Municipal Court Clerk. She moved to Wichita in 1978 and was a self employed photographer.

Maggie married The Reverend James Robert Peters in 1985. He preceded her in death in 1996, but she remained actively involved in Cathedral activities.

She was also active in P.E.O. and Daughters of the King at Grace Episcopal Cathedral.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Clark and husband, David of Wichita, two granddaughters; Julie Green and husband, Colin, Atlanta, Georgia and Jamie Clark, Wichita; and nieces; Judy Young, Kansas City and Janice Theus, Arlington, Texas. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Leslie.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at Grace Episcopal Cathedral.
