Margie Hortenstine

Margie L. Hortenstine, 80, Topeka, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004 at a Topeka hospital. She was born January 15, 1924 in Norton County Kansas near Logan, the daughter of Verl and Ethel Loughry DuBois. She graduated from Norton High School class of 1940. She was a member of Capital Post 1 Auxillary of the American Legion and Fraternal order of Eagles Auxillary. She was preceded in death by her sister Beulah Mapes and brother Duane DuBois.
She married Daniel Hortenstine January 31, 1976 in Topeka, KS he survives.
Other survivors include a daughter Sherry McPherson, Topeka, KS; five step-children, 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren,17 step-grandchildren and 14 step-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004 at Penwell-Gable Mid-Town Chapel.
Mrs Hortenstine will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
