Margaret Perdue

Margaret "Peg" Perdue, 81, Topeka, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at a Topeka retirement center. She was born on November 2, 1923 in Junction City, Kansas the daughter of Frederick Nyle and Florence Nickels Archer. She was raised in Wichita and attended Wichita State University. She graduated cum laude from Wasburn University in Topeka. Mrs. Perdue was a social worker for Catholic Social Services. She was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church. She married William L. Perdue on June 9, 1945, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1991. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lise Lyn Perdue. Survivors include a son, William Lang Perdue II, College Station, Texas; a daughter, Stacy Lowe, Topeka; three grandchildren, Christopher T. Perdue, Benjamin B. Perdue and William Lang Perdue III; and a sister, Bette Thul, Grand Junction, Colo. Mrs. Perdue was cremated. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. David's Episcopal Church, S.W. 17th St, Topeka, 66604, or to the Cat Association of Topeka, 1719 S.W. Gage Blvd., Topeka, 66604.
