Margaret M. Rogers, 83, of Tecumseh, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2009 at her home. She was born on March 31, 1926, at rural Marysville, KS, the daughter of Eck and Constance Wetzler Severns. She attended Deer Creek Rural School and graduated from Marysville High School in 1944. Following graduation, she was employed by Craven Implement Co. at Marysville and moved to Topeka in 1949 to work in their store there. She later became employed by and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Topeka. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Arab Shrine Ladies, and the Wacky Wednesday Workers. Margaret married Lyle G. Rogers on November 20, 1947 in Marysville. They were married for 57 years. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2005. Survivors include one brother, Norman Severns of Marysville, KS, one niece, Ann Hoelting of Shawnee, KS, two nephews, David and Wesley Seidl of Oklahoma, four great-nieces, four great-nephews and three great-great-nieces. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Graveside committal services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Marysville Cemetery, Marysville, KS. Margaret will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Arab Shrine Transportation Fund, c/o Arab Temple, 1305 S.
