Margaret M. Kennedy, 96, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010.
She was born February 22, 1913 in Seligman, MO, the daughter of Foster and Elizabeth (Saunders) Price. She was a graduate of Herrington High School.
Mrs. Kennedy owned and operated the Fashions By Marge Beauty Salon in Topeka for retiring after 25 years.
She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Margaret married John H. Kennedy January 16, 1932 in Holton, KS. He preceded her in death on 1993. Survivors include her son, Charles D. Kennedy (Patricia) of Silver Spring, MD; 3 grandchildren, Pamela Fink, Terri Kennedy and Marta Odell; 3 great-grandchildren; her sister, Elizabeth Withers of Overland Park, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents and 6 brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Kennedy will lie in state after 3 p.m., today at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd. Topeka, KS 66617.
