MARGARET H. ANDERSON, 91, died Thursday, January 11, 2007, at Brewster Health Center, Topeka, Kansas. Margaret was born in Amarillo, Texas, January 16, 1915 to Grover Sanders and Laura Jones-Sanders. She graduated from Wellington, Kansas, High School and moved to Topeka, Kansas to work at the Santa Fe Railroad offices, where she met her future husband, Eugene "Gene" Anderson. Margaret and Gene were married May 29, 1938. They were married 66 years, Gene dying August 26, 2004. Margaret devoted her life primarily to being a mother to their three children and caregiver to Gene in his last years. She and her family also lived in Grandview, MO, Wichita, KS, Overland Park, KS. As her children were leaving home, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and her private duty patients became friends who appreciated her efficiency and kindness. In 1971 Margaret and Gene moved to Buena Vista,, Colorado, where they built their dream home. During the 10 years they lived there, Margaret's life highlights were having grandchildren visit in the summer and going on jeep trips in the mountains. She overcame great difficulties in her life but remained in the staunch survivor mode until her transition to eternal life with her Lord Jesus Christ. She was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Philip Wayne Anderson, who died February 4, 1981, and a great grandson, William James Anderson. She is survived by her two sons, D. Keith Anderson, and his wife, Carmen, Valley Center, Kansas, and David, and his wife, Ruth, Belleville, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Judy Anderson Moler, Topeka; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. A Christian Memorial services will be 1:30 PM, Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Brewster Place Retirement Community Chapel, 1205 SW 29th Street, Topeka, Kansas, 66611. The family asks, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to "Brewster Place Foundation Chaplain Program" at the same address.
