Margaret Ann Christesen, 62, of Topeka, passed away, Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at her home following an extended battle with cancer.
She was born July 2, 1942 in Topeka, the daughter of Homer Chris and Flossie Velma Feaker Christesen.
Margaret was a 1961 graduate of Topeka High School.
She was employed by U.S.D. 501 until her retirement in 2001.
Margaret was a member of Topeka Chapter #462 Order of the Eastern Star.
She married Gary Northcraft in 1961. They divorced in 1965.
Survivors include her son Mark Torgeson, Topeka; her daughter Andrea Weyand and her husband Kevin, Topeka; her grandchildren, Christina Ann Weyand and Brandon Michael Weyand; her sister, Donna Kramer, Langely, WA; her niece and nephews, Karlye Kramer Buck and Carl Comfort both of Langley, WA, and Chris Kramer of Brooklyn, NY and her aunts, Ruby Fillmore, Osage City, KS; Camilla Thomson, Topeka; Beulah Armstrong, Topeka; and Bernice Colbert, Ada, OK.
Mrs. Christesen will lie in state and the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
