Margaret "Peg" Chalfant, 76, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010.
Margaret "Peg" Chalfant was born June 24, 1933 in East Liverpool, Ohio; daughter of John Patrick and Grace Marie (Haney) O'Neill. She graduated from East Liverpool High School.
She was married to Chester "Chet" Chalfant on November 30, 1985. He died February 13, 2007.
Peg worked for Inter-State Studios for 25 years.
Peg is survived by Jeff Miller and wife Celia Taylor of Denver, Colorado; Jennifer Miller-Stucky and husband Myron, Topeka; Karen Miller-Thornwall and husband Donn, Topeka; Julie Miller, Tecumseh; five grandchildren, Zachary Traphagan, Christopher Traphagan, Danielle Traphagan, Michael Thornwall and Steven Thornwall; a brother, Robert O'Neill, Hiawassee, Georgia; sisters, Carol Cody, Olney, Maryland; Judy Baker, Lisbon, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Johnny O'Neill, Kathryn Harrold, Henrietta Holt, Grace Semones, Grant O'Neill and James O'Neill.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010 at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, 2014 NW 46th Street, Topeka KS 66618. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Peg will lie in state after 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604, where family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday and a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.
