Margaret I. Black, 86, of Topeka, passed away on September 20, 2017 at a local hospital.
She was born on July 16, 1931 in Topeka, KS to Douglas and Margaret (Jenkins) Lester.
She graduated from Topeka High School, and went on to attend Washburn University.
Margaret loved music, especially singing and playing the piano. She was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she served as a pianist for the congregation for many years.
She is survived by a son, Arthur Black, of Topeka; and a sister, Joyce (Paul) Nixon, of Parker, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Douglas Malcom Lester.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will take place at a later date at Grantville Cemetery.
