Mardelle Frances Spoering
Mardelle Spoering, 83, of Topeka, passed from this life Wednesday, July 27, 2005.
Mardelle was born December 18, 1921 the daughter of Ernest and Ruth Nunnenkamp in Deshler, Nebraska.
On March 18, 1945 Mardelle married Delmar Spoering, who survives her. They moved to Topeka in 1954.
Mardelle was an active member of Countryside United Methodist Church where she served as historian for a number of years. She was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service there and a member of the Shawnee County Association for Family and Community Education.
Mardelle was a talented and creative seamstress and homemaker. She loved to share the work of her hands with her family and friends. The joy of her life was to care for and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mardelle was the much loved mother of Cheryl Palmer, Auburn, KS; and Craig Spoering, Grand Junction, CO who survive her. She was a devoted and proud grandmother to four grandchildren, Kimberly Walker, Harveyville, KS; Robyn Ditch, Topeka; Ryan Spoering, Boston, MA; and Andrew Spoering, Denver, CO. She is also survived by six beloved great grandchildren, McKenzie, Dylan and Tanner Walker, Harveyville, KS; Alex and Emily Ditch, Topeka; and Katie Spoering, Denver, CO. Additional survivors include four brothers, Wayne, Allen, Stanley and Gary Nunnenkamp and one sister, Donna Reimer.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2005 at Countryside United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Spoering will lie in state and the family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
