Marcia Brown, 71, of Topeka, died on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Aldersgate Village.
Marcia was born on March 16, 1942 in Lincoln, NE to Kemit and Lylas (Lofgren) Berggren. She attended Randolph Grade School and graduated from Topeka High School in 1961.
Marcia volunteered for over 17 years at the information desk at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Topeka. She was active as a resident at Aldersgate Village for over 11 years and was loved by staff and residents. She loved animals, especially her dog Millie. One of her favorite outings was to go to McFarland's Restaurant for dinner with her husband Terry.
She was united in marriage to Terron W. Brown on August 16, 1974; he preceded her in death in April 2013. Marcia is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Roger and Selih Brown, San Diego, CA; sisters and brothers-in-law Cynthia and Jim Morris and Shirley and Lonnie VanArsdale, all of Gardner, KS; nephews Don Cunningham, Brian Morris, Scott Brown and Shane Brown.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, October 26 at the Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Marcia will lie in state from noon to 5:00pm on Friday, October 25 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka.
