Marcia Cole Saville, 80, of Topeka, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at her home. She was born on June 27, 1927 in Sabetha, the daughter of Walter and Teresa Cole. She moved to Topeka in 1934 where she has resided since. She graduated from Topeka High School, attended Mills College in California and obtained a Bachelor's degree from Washburn University. She was a life-long community volunteer, serving on the boards of numerous local and regional organizations. She married Harold Saville in 1949 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1985. Survivors include her children, Art Saville of Sunnyvale, CA, Tom Saville of Anchorage, AK, Caroline Cowger of Topeka, five grandchildren, Rachel Cowger, Kate Cowger, Jane Cowger, Dimitri Shein, Anastasia Hanson, one great-grandson, Vincent Shein and one brother, Walter Cole of Topeka. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Mount Hope Chapel Mausoleum. Burial will follow. Marcia will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor's choice.
