Marcheta M. Neale

Marcheta M. Neale, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at her home. She was born on July 4, 1924 in Topeka, the daughter of Enos and Eythel McKenzie. She graduated from Topeka High School. She attended the University of Kansas. She decorated windows for Crosby Brothers until 1946. She later decorated windows for the gift shop at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority at the University of Kansas, the P.E.O Chapter of Topeka, the Topeka High Historical Society, the Central Congregational Church and the First Congregational Church. Marcheta married Bill Neale on January 19, 1946 in Kansas City, KS while he was in the Navy. He survives. Other survivors include one son, David Neale and wife, Mary of Portland, OR, and one granddaughter, Ashley Neale. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Louise Neale. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice Care, 1033 S.W. Gage Blvd., Topeka, KS 66604 or First Congregational Church, 1701 S.W. Collins Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
