Lynda R. Ramsey, 61, Topeka, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 5, 2005.
Lynda was born August 6, 1943 in Wichita, the daughter of Claudie A. Morris and Elaine Taylor. She grew up in Chanute.
She retired from the State of Kansas after 24 years of service with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Hobbies included quilting, reading ,cooking and being a family provider for her children and grandchildren.
She married John S. Ramsey on May 24, 1985 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include her sons: J.W. Ramsdell and wife Terri, Carbondale; Wade Ramsdell and wife CeCe, Carbondale; and Joe Ramsdell and wife Janie, Topeka and a daughter: Bobette Butler and husband Kieron, Ft. Campbell, KY. 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild; one sister. Lauree Gibson, Colorado Springs, CO , and brother, David Morris, Valley Falls, and a dear friend of the family, Lynne Getty, Charlotte, NC.
A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Mrs. Ramsey will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 P.M. Tuesday and visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
