Lyle G. Rogers, 83, of Topeka, passed away Friday, June 17 at a local hospital.
He wsa born April 9, 1922 in Home City, KS , the son of Guy and Nell Haar Rogers.
He graduated from Marysville High School in 1941 and served in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He retired from the State Dept. of Transportation in Topeka. He was a member of Topeka Lodge # 17, the Arab Shrine, the Jesters and Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and was a life member of the American Legion.
Lyle married Margaret M. Severns on November 20, 1947 in Marysville, KS. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one niece, two nephews and eight grandnieces and nephews.
Mr. Rogers will lie in state after 2:00 pm Monday, June 20 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 7- 8:00 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 21 at the funeral home with burial to follow at 3:00 pm at Marysville Cemetery in Marysville, KS.
