Lyle G. Peek, 52, of Gladstone, MO, passed away, Wednesday, February 23 at the Colmery-O'Niell Veteran's Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas.
He was born April 21, 1952 in Torrington, WY, the son of Lyle and Clara Peek.
He enlisted in the Army at the age of seventeen and completed his education at the American High School in Frankfurt, West Germany. He was an aircraft mechanic, a military policeman and a construction engineer until his retirement in 1989. He was a loving family man. Mr. Peek fought a sixteen year battle with Huntington's Disease with courage and dignity.
He married Deborah Woodin on August 28, 1972 in Homestead, FL.
He is survived by his wife Deborah, a daughter, Emily Nelson and her son Nathaniel of Lawrence, KS, a son Jared Peek of Gladstone, MO., mother in law Marian Woodin of Gladstone, MO, two sisters, Louise Pickles of Tucson, AZ and Linda Wheeler of Chilliwack, British Columbia and nine nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm, Tuesday March 1at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
