Lyle C. Maddux, age 89 of Topeka, Kansas passed away on Friday November 5th, 2021 surrounded by family. Son of Anson C. and Christabelle (Downing) Maddux. He was born on September 26, 1932 at Leopold Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He attended Deerfield High School graduated in 1950 and received a BS degree from Kansas State University attended 1950 thru 1954.
In addition to farming, he was a sales rep for Ortho Products, a loan officer for Topeka State Bank, an agent for Farmers Insurance and a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker Griffith & Blair. Hobbies included wood workings, gardening, dancing, traveling and family activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents Anson C. and Christabelle Maddux, wives Burnalee Florence Loomis Maddux, Blanch Rita Krepulka Nelson Maddux, and Marylee Bures Shields Maddux. Survivors include his daughters Jewel Robinson and husband Gene, Kim Maddux, Son Larry Maddux, and step-son Stephen Bures. A brother Phil A. Maddux and sister LeRoyce Ann Maddux of Deerfield, Kansas, and companion Patsy Ford of Topeka, Kansas, as well of numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. and burial at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street. Memorials can be made to Deerfield United Methodist Church, 201 E. 8th Street, Deerfield, Kansas 67838.
