Lydia Irene Bullard, 97, Topeka, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at Legends at Capital Ridge. She was born July 25, 1916 in Appanoose community, Franklin County, the daughter of Ivah E. and Asahel H. Davis.
Mrs. Bullard was employed with Santa Fe Railroad Company where she worked as an electrical draftsman for the Signal Engineering Department, Eastern Line for 21 years and later as a secretary for the Time Service Department until her retirement.
She was a member of the Loyal Chapter No. 176 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Silver Lake for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Bullard was a lifetime member of Topeka Church of the Brethren, where she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir for many years and quilted with the Women's Fellowship Group.
On July 4, 1938, she married Wayne O. Bullard in Lyndon, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1998.
Survivors include her daughter, Marsha M. Miller, Topeka; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Private burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
