Luella M. Weikal, 84, passed away February 3, 2011 in Shawnee, Kansas.
Luella, daughter of Lewis and Sophia Dicke, was born October 17, 1926, in Topeka, Kansas.
Lue married William B. Weikal on November 24, 1946, and lived in Topeka where she worked for and retired from the Civilian Personnel Office at Forbes Air Force Base. Luella was preceded in death by William, her husband of 58 years.
Survivors include a son, Alan Weikal (Jane) of Wichita; two daughters, Linda Fox (Steve) of Berryton and Nancy Weikal of Shawnee; grandchildren, Grant Weikal, Sarah Bengston, Todd Fox and Barry Fox; five great grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Grillo (Michael) of Syracuse, NY.
Funeral services will be at 1p.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, 17th and Gage in Topeka. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the church on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Topeka Lutheran School, 701 Roosevelt, Topeka, KS 66606; Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, 9221 Ward Parkway, Ste 100, Kansas City, MO 64114 or Alzheimer's Heart of America, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208.
