Luella Ruth Carson

Luella Ruth Carson, 83, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2004 at her residence. She was born on January 27, 1921 in Valley Falls, Ks., the daughter of John W. and Luella J. Grahem Strawn. She attended schools in Valley Falls, Ks. She was in the WAC during WWII. She married Clyde B. "Doc" Carson, Jr. on January 23, 1946 at Auburn, Ks. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1989. Survivors include two brothers, Raymond Strawn of Vancouver, Washington and Marvin L. Strawn of Topeka, 3 sisters, Mildred Hefty of Valley Falls, Ks., Rose Bonebrake of Las Vegas, Nevada and Juanita Boley of Ellsworth, Ks., several loving nieces and nephews and many friends. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. Mrs. Carson will lie in state after Noon Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
