Lucille (Conner) Harris
Lucille was born October 8, 1923 in Hoyt, Kansas the daughter of John Ralph and Isabel Emily (Morris) Conner.
She was a 1941 graduate of Seaman High School. Following graduation during WWII she worked for the Federal Government in Washington, D. C. In 1944 she was employed by the Santa Fe Railway in Topeka and retired in 1983 after 39 years of service.
Mrs. Harris was a long time member of Seaman Congregational United Church of Christ and the Women's Fellowship and Ruth Group of the Church. She was also a member of the Santa Fe Old Timers Club, Active Prime Timers, Topeka Travel Club, Santa Fe Women's' Club, Women of the Moose, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was married to Joe M. Harris on October 14, 1950 in Topeka. They were divorced in 1969.
Lucille is survived by her nephew Dannie Law, his wife Lynda Law, their sons; Lucille's Grandnephew David Law and Lucille's Great Grandnephew James Dawson Law (David's son), Grandnephew Michael Law, and Michael's wife Meghan Law.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue. Burial will follow in Hoyt Cemetery. Lucille will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Funeral Home.
