Lucille "OB" Armstrong, age 85, of Topeka, Kansas passed away Sunday, May 11, 2003 at her home. She was born July 28, 1917 in Abilene, Kansas to John F. and Lydia Wohler Oberhelman. She has been a Topeka resident since 1920.
She graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1934 where she was a cheerleader. She actively participated in basketball, softball, bowling, and golf. She was employed by First National Bank and retired in 1983. She was a member of the Bank IV Womens Retirees Group, Senior Citizen Bridge Group, and Women of the Moose auxiliary. She was a former member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer Group, Chamber of Commerce Womens Division, and the Shawnee Country Club. She attended Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry Armstrong of Topeka, Kansas, John Armstrong of China, and Jim Armstrong of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 9 Grandchildren; and 2 Great-grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at Penwell Gabel Mid Town Chapel on Thursday, May 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
