Louis R. Beaver, 77, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital ER. He was born on September 23, 1928 in Topeka, the son of Lewis J. and Rose Hefner Beaver. He was a life long Topeka resident. He graduated from Capital Catholic High School. He served a five year plumbers apprenticeship. He was employed by several plumbing companies before retiring from Piping Contractors in September of 1991. He was a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union No. 441 since July of 1947. He married Betty D. Rankin on April 17, 1948 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Kerry D. Beaver of Meridan, Craig A. Beaver of Wichita, one granddaughter, Holly of Meridan, three sisters, Rosella May of Lynnhaven, FL, Jeanette Foley of Wichita and Beverly Saul of Iowa. He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Joost. Cremation has taken place. A graveside inurnment service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Lung Association, 4300 S.W. Drury Ln., Topeka, Ks. 66604 or the organization of the donor's choice. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
