Louis Robert Goodhart, 77, of Topeka, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022.
He was born October 29, 1944, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Louis Grant and Sarah Elizabeth (Warner) Goodhart.
He served in the United State Army from 1962 until 1968.
Louis enjoyed his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and attending their sporting events. He also enjoyed his time at the casino with his wife Pat.
He worked at Goodyear for over 40 years. After his retirement, he spent time as a courtesy driver for Capital City Nissan and for Dillon's Grocery Store. Both he and Pat opened up a second hand furniture store as well.
Louis married Patricia Ann Goodhart on January 16, 1971 in Lakemore, Ohio, she preceded him in death on December 1, 2021. Survivors include his daughters, Christina (Lee) Gardner, and Kelly (Bob) Catlin; daughter-in-law, Kathy Quick; grandchildren, LeighAnn (Matt) Cooksley, Alex (Abbey) Defendorf, Emma (Drew Lewis) Goodhart, Keaton Catlin, and Emerie Catlin; one great-grandson, Carson Cooksley and one great-grandson on the way any day now; and brother, Donald Goodhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Louis "Bo" Goodhart and his twin brother, Lawrence Goodhart.
A Funeral Ceremony will be at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Penwell-Gabel - Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka. The family will greet friends an hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
