Louis Jacob Casebier, 93, Topeka, passed away Wed., Feb. 27, 2008.
He was born on April 3, 1914 in Winchester, KS to Ernest Nobel and Myrtle Edith Beasore Casebier.
He married Ruth Roberta Coburn on Sept. 3, 1940 in Quinter, KS. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2003.
He served in the Armored Division in World War II from 1942 to 1946 in the European Theatre.
He was a general foreman at John Morrell & Company until 1951; Supervisor at Seymour Foods until 1961 and retired in 1976 as Supervisor of Driver Control Bureau for the State of Kansas. He went on to work as an Assistant Sergeant of Arms for the State Legislature until 1994.
He was a member of First Congregational Church, American Legion Capital Post #1, AF of AM Topeka Lodge #17, Scottish Rite and Arab Shrine of Topeka.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Richard Louis Casebier on November 10, 2001 and a sister, Phyllis Charlene Glover on July 16, 2006.
Survivors include his daughter, Roberta Oestreich and husband, Jim; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Casebier; a sister, Mary Frances Bezinque, all of Topeka. A brother, Harlan Casebier of Gardnerville, NV; grandchildren, Kimberly Fenster and husband, Joel; Brian Casebier and fiancee, Libby Eakes of Topeka, Trent Oestreich and wife, Kelle of Bucyrus, KS; Justin Palmer and wife, Ashley of Lawrence, KS; Brooke Peters and husband, Aaron of Overland Park, KS; great grandchildren, Brie Sutton, Cody Casebier, Myles Palmer, Riley Brown, Luke and Colin Oestreich and Isaiah Peters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Louis was cremated. Memorial services will be held, Monday, March 3 at 1:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 1701 SW Collins Ave. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
