Lorraine M. Fraser, 94, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016.
She was born June 19, 1922 in McFarland, the daughter of Arthur and Julia Shannon.
Lorraine was a 1939 graduate of Highland Park High School. After high school she attended Strickler's Business College and later went to work for the State of Kansas as a Nursing Aide at the Kansas Neurological Institute, retiring in 1982 after 24 years of service.
She enjoyed reading, watching TV, knitting and gardening.
Lorraine married Jerold Fraser on April 6, 1943 in Hiawatha, KS. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1991.
Survivors include a son, Ken Fraser of Topeka; a daughter, Julia Miller (John) of Greeley, CO; two grandchildren, Michael Miller of Colorado Springs, CO and Stephanie Campbell (Alan) of Fort Collins, CO; great grandchildren, Kenny Fraser, Samuel and Charles Campbell.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and one grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 5 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 S.W. 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604 where the family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service.
