Loretta Shepek
Loretta L. Shepek, 79, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Plaza West Regional Health Center. She was born on April 18, 1932 in Shawnee County, to Charles Sager and Leona M. Vorse.
Loretta graduated from Topeka High School in 1949 and in 1954 she received her Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Kansas. Loretta was a chemist for the State of Kansas. In January of 1967, she married Reuben D. Shepek, they later divorced. She was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church.
Loretta has no known surviving family members, but is remembered lovingly by a large group of friends at Plaza West.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Loretta will lie in-state on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd, Topeka, KS 66617.
