Loraine J. Swaim, 82, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2006.
Loraine was born January 24, 1924, daughter of William and Carrie Hall in Wabaunsee, KS.
She was united in marriage to Frank Swaim on December 17, 1940.
Loraine retired in 1987 from KSU as a supervisor in the Derby Food Center and later worked in food service for Topeka 501 from 1988-2001.
She is survived by son, Terry Swaim and wife, Annie, Hot Springs, AR; daughter, Polly Griffin and husband, Larry, Ozawkie; two sisters, Carolyn Peter, Topeka, and Eva Feyh, Topeka; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Rita Dellinger and Alice Rhoades; granddaughter, Brenda K. Briggs, brother, Roscoe Hall, two sisters, Ruth Paxton and Alice Hasenbank.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 15th at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka, KS. Mrs. Swaim will lie in state after 12 noon on Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
