Lona Ruth Relihan, 87, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014.
Lona was born July 14, 1927, in Lebanon, Kansas, daughter of Arthur J. and Nellie M. (Carpenter) Atwill. She was one of eleven siblings. Lona graduated from Lebanon High School in 1946. She married Don E. Relihan on December 18, 1948 in Smith Center, Kansas.
Lona was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1, Past President Parley, and was a Premier Grand President of the LaFemme's Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Carol Finne, son, Jim Haddock, and nine siblings.
Lona is survived by her four children, Lola Hobbs, David Relihan, Billie Relihan of Topeka, and Thomas (Sally) Relihan of Lebanon, KS, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two siblings, Bill Atwill of Stockton, KS, and Lucille Bausch of Omaha, NE, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cora Township, Kansas.
